Earl L. Boggs - OBITUARY

Captain Earl L. Boggs was born on December 3, 1939 in Glenpool, Oklahoma and died on
March 17, 1966 in Harrison Township, McComb County, Michigan as a result of an
aircraft crash. He was 26 years old.                      [ My dads Airplane Below ]

Earl entered the Air Force in 1958 and attended USAF Officer Candidate School graduating in September 1962. He attended Navigator training schools at Webb AFB, TX in 1962, Connelly AFB, TX in 1963 and Mather AFB, CA and Stead AFB, NV in 1964.

At the completion of his schooling he was assigned to the Air Defense Command at Stewart AFB, NY and the 4713th DEVRON (Defense Evaluation Squadron) flying B-57 aircraft testing ADC radar capabilities and readiness throughout the northeastern U. S. and Canada. During the period from Feb 1965 to Jul 1965 he attended the University of Maryland to complete his Bachelors Degree. He was working on learning his fifth language.

On March 17, 1966, while departing Selfridge AFB, Michigan, his plane crashed. Both he and the pilot were killed.

funeral was held prior to his burial on March 22, 1966 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Muskogee County, Oklahoma. His parents survive him.
